The 35th real,- BERLIN-MARATHON 2008
On September 28, 2008, the sports metropolis of Berlin will be celebrating a fabulous anniversary. When over 40,000 athletes set off on the fastest marathon course in the world, cheered on by a million spectators and more than 70 live bands, the 35th real,- BERLIN MARATHON will once again captivate the German capital.Participating in the 35th real,- BERLIN MARATHON means a lot more than just running the same 42 kilometres together with the fastest athletes in the world, however. Experiencing the fantastic atmosphere along the course and running through the Brandenburg Gate and past the grandstands the last 400 metres to the finish line make this euphoric marathon race an unforgettable experience for everyone.
As early as never before the real,- BERLIN-MARATHON has sold out as it has reached its participant capacity of 40.000 entries. The race, which is celebrating its 35th running this year on September 28th, has been the stage of five world records (men and women) in the last ten years. The current world record mark of 2:04:26 by Haile Gebrselassie was set on the flat and fast Berlin course last year.
